Vik Muniz was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. He uses unexpected materials, such as caviar, peanut butter, chocolate syrup and diamonds, to create portraits, landscapes and still lifes which he photographs. His aim is to subvert the viewer’s expectations and wants his images to show people a measure of their own belief.
